LesPaul Deluxe:

Left Handed

John’s oldest guitar, this Cherry Sunburst classic makes a few appearances on the “Cobalt Blue” & “Songbook.  The Rosewood fret board & Humbucking pickups provide the unmistakably warm Les Paul tone, which supplies the throaty sustain to the electric slide passages on “Cobalt Blue,” “Wax Anvil” & “Here, With You.”  John used a Line 6 Flextone II amplifier with his vintage Les Paul.

New Arrivals!

Recently, John added to his collection a Fender Stratocaster (Highway One series) and a Taylor Classical/Nylon String (model NS52ce)...of course both are Left-Handed; both made in California.

These two beauties are featured on “The Fossils” Eon Rising along with the Guild & the Weber.  The Strat is used, for example, for Slide on “Your Time Has Come;” the Taylor butters up “Lullaby Rain” and

“Tell Me That You Love Me.”

Instruments

John uses these instruments to provide the lush acoustic & electric backdrop for

Cobalt Blue, Songbook, & Eon Rising

Guild JF-65

Jumbo Acoustic: Lefty

This beauty is John’s primary rig.  The guitar features an Ebony fret board and Curly Maple back & sides.  Made in Rhode Island, the jumbo’s giant sound coupled with its perfect pitch gives John’s songs a distinctive sound all their own.

Weber Absaroka Mandolin: Left Handed

Like the Guild, the Weber has gorgeous curly maple back & sides and inlaid Ebony fret board, which both looks beautiful and gives it the bright tone you’ll hear on “Songbook” and “Eon Rising.”  Listen for this Montana-made gem on tracks like “Dodger,” “Days Ahead,” and “Proof Enough, & “Your Time Has Come.”
